My stock cd player keeps giving me an error code!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!
i am putting my car back to stock and reccently put back my stock deck it was fine before i mean there were tim,es when i would have a perfectly clean cd and it would still reject playing it saying throwing me a code in the manual that it cant read the cd "try cleaning the cd or remove scratches or some **** like that" but the cd is fine!!! i think it might be the lense but i dont think a cd lense cleaner will work becasue i tried one from a friend and it worked on his aftermarket one but not mine. the radio stations play and everything i just dont know whats going on!!!!!!! help me out guys!!!!!!!!
Try disabling power to the deck by either unpugging the radio/cd or unpluging the battery terminals, removing the power will disable the code temporarily... sometimes this method will work.. If not, you most likely have some internal error within the unit....
my method is to remove positive and negative battery cables from the battery and touch them together for 10 seconds to remove all "residual" power within the cars electrical system...

i had a code, I think it was 01, and I had to get my CD player replaced.
it sucked, because i was on the first leg of a round trip to knoxville tenn from houston tex.
so, about 24 hours worth of driving plus one weekend in knoxville with only radio, it sucked, thank god that knoxville had a decent radio station to listen to!
edit: it was covered under waranty too, so if you are still in your time, take it in

no the cd is not burned i have tried playing several new cd's and it still gives me the error it has played burned cd's before though but now it wont play anything at all
The laser is probably out of alignment. Did it get dropped at all while it was out of the car? If it's out of warranty, you can try: http://www.unitedradio.com/auto_main.shtml
Hmm is it still under warranty? If it is bring it back in to the dealer and let them swap a new one good luck.
