Golden Eagle Mfg. in Dallas, TX NHRA
Let me just say that this weekend was awsome. I had a blast and got to meet alot of great people. Here is a little summary of what happened with our sponsored cars:
Bergenholtz Racing : Ed Bergenholtz and Dr. Charles Madrid battled it out in the first round of eliminations. Ed's Mazda 6 run of an 8.709@160 was fast but nowhere near it's mark while Dr. Charles took the CRX to it's best ever 8.769@164 taking the win from Ed with a better reaction time. During that run the CRX decided to let the oil pump go in 4th gear registering 0 oil pressure. We then had 75 minuted to replace the block so there was no time to spare. We ripped out the motor and replaced it with a motor that I assembled at the track on Fri. Dr. Charles had a bye run in the semi finals and walked into the finals facing Nelson Hoyos from GM. We put the CRX on kill mode and unfortunately someone laid oil ALL THE WAY DOWN THE TRACK. Track officials cleaned up the oil but never VHT'ed the track making very unstable conditions. Dr. Charles out reacted Hoyos but lost traction in 4th gear causing him to travel toward the center line and slowing down the run dramatically. Luckily with some good driving, Dr. Charles kept the car under control running a 9.0 losing to GM's 8.6 run. All in all, we had a great time.
Saturn Motorsports : Lisa Kubo debuted her car doing very well with an 8.92 run first time out. Unfortunately, the tranny decided it didn't want to hold and let 3rd gear go. I want to thank Lisa and Gary for the great performance and we look forward to seeing some great runs from the Saturn Team. Also we would like to thank Nick Novak and the all-motor team from Saturn Motorsports for the great effort. Unfortunately they ran into some issues and were not able to get the car down the track with any winning times. We also look forward to seeing some great times from the Saturn all-motor project.
Gary Gardella : With some new items on the car, Gary just could not seem to find his mojo. Running an 8.71@165, a 9.01 and some consistent 9.7's, Gary was considerably off his mark by a full second. I asked Gary and his crew what the problem was and they said it was just some stupid gremlins that they are sure to have worked out for the next race. We are confident that Gary will be back in action very soon.
JJ Olson : With some consisten 9.1 runs, JJ seemed to be on the ball. He had a very easy opponent in the first round of eliminations but he unfortunately broke a tranny losing the race. JJ seems to really be on the move and we are also very confident that he will be ready to give some competitors a run for their money at the next NHRA event in Oregon.
Again, I had a great time and want to thank everyone for a great race.

I was at the event and I must say that I was very impressed with the quality of it. The Bergenholtz's cars ran very well. I was really glad to see Dr.Charles make it into the finals I was just hoping that was he going to get some pay back from Vegas on the bothwell car.
But you can't win them all so hopefully he'll clean up the Oregon event.

Yeah wish i could have been there to see it. Looks like he did very well in qualifying as did kenny Tran. Sucks they both went out first round.
Would have been there if I didnt have a race the night before here at home.
