Well once you get the car moving then it's really nice, cuz you feel the road a lot more and also it seems that you're more in control.. since there is no assistance if you move the steering wheel by an 1inch the wheels will move an inch too.

But you need to make sure that you loop the ract correctly, so that the fluid stays inside. It will be a little bit more heavy, but otherwise your rack is gona start clicking and go to **** after a little while. The moving parts are suppose to get power steering fluid when they move, if you start moving them with less and less fluid everytime.. there is a chance that it will break.. my 2cents...

if you got the money and the time. Just pick up a non-power steering rack, and make the switch!

i notice a better pull right off when i removed my ps. and its great "fighting" with the car around sharp corners. it makes driving fun. icon thef.

anything that you can get rid of off the motor that is belt driven always helps...toss the a/c and p/s and you're down 2 pulleys, then slap on the new underdrive..

I like my power steering especially when I am on the phone and trying to back out my car from a parking space.

I agree with TeckNix....... I had my power steering taken off when I had my motor swap done. For now its just zip tied in my engine bay until i can decide weather i can deal with daily driving with none. I've noticed its not that bad in hatches, but in my accord its hell. I like the idea of buying a non power steering rack though. As for feeling the road, its true you do feel more of it, but you better have some strength in those arms if you want to keep it straight if you are driving on a tore up freeway.

Just run hoses and a breather to the two P/S line on your rack to a reservoir. This will make it feel a lot better due to you not figthing the fluid every time you steer...

I agree, the feedback you get from the steering wheel is entertaining.
But parallel parking is a bitch.

Anyone think of using the electrically engaged clutch pulley thing off an AC compressor? that way you could turn it on and off with a dash mounted switch... granted i have no idea how those things work... just a thought...

remove the PS... why do you even have to ask. It's a no brainier.. PS is for caddies and trucks.. not for serious motoring enthusiasts!
