??

i read w/ those pistons on my d16y8 i should expect somewhere around 11.1 compression.

they have a 00 CC displacement....

they'd be nice for a little build up

What about wrist pin height?

THe stock D16Y8 pistons have a compression height of 1.154 and a stock deck clearance of .027

The D15B7 piston has a compression height of 1.181 which is +.027 taller than the D16Y8.

Running D15B7 pistons will give you a zero deck.

With 0.00 deck clearance, a 0.00 cc dome and a stock Y8 gasket (0.037) your compression will be 11.760142808463701

Can't put B7 pistons in a d16...the wrist pin location is lower than with d16 pistons meaning they will slap the valves nicely when you start the motor up

i thought that meant the pistons will smack the head!
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Um when the piston is at the top no valves are open

Im not sure about that, id have to check into it. I dont believe it will though, the cams on the y8 are bigger but I dont think they are big enough to make too much of a difference. Has anyone clayed this set up to find out if the piston to valve clearance is sufficiant?

I have absolutely no experience with D series motors, I just wanted to shed some light on the compression ratio question.

The D16A6 piston has a compression height of 1.161 which is +.007 taller than the D16Y8.

Running D16A6 pistons will give you a .007 deck.

With 0.007 deck clearance, a -3.40cc dome and a stock 3 layer D16Y8 gasket (0.037) your compression will be 10.665359661199687

Using a D16Y8 2 layer (.0250) gasket your compression will be 10.99244590418631
