Default anyone run obx cat or axel back??? opinions

i'm just wonder what the obx sounds like. good, bad or what? i can get a header as well as a cat back from them for less than 300 and i just want to know before i spend the cash. my original plans were to go with a thermal c/b and a rsr header.

if your reason for not liking them is because you only like highclass name brads then move on. a ton of companies pay ONE company for certain products and they just put their name on it. if every company came out with a product being better than someone else's then they would of done what aem did with their intakes and market them in that fashion.

thank you to anyone that has anything to offer.

i had the obx catback a while ago. it sounded good, it had a low tone and wasnt too loud, but the muffler hung too low. so i cut that part at the axle and just put a little canister muffler on, and got a obx hi flow cat. it sounds really good.

i've heard some good things about apexi. i'm just not lucky enough to have the hook up through work though. i can get 5 zigen through work but the don't make a cat back the exsits on the drivers side like mine. i can get the obx for only 2 bills it's fully polished and has a lifetime warranty <shrug> i only get it so cheap because they company i work for has a level three account with them (the best hook up) the msrp on it is in the 400+ range.

A lot of the "BIG NAME" brands aren't even 304 stainless steel.
I'm using an OBX muffler and an 18" vibrant resonator and no cat and it sounds great; not too loud with the silencer in and never raspy.
The only big name system I'd consider is Thermal R&D.

Do you have any pics of the OBX on the car?

i have the OBX catback and test pipe. it sounds good an dis made from good quality stuff, as for hte claim it hangs low... well it does hang a bit low. but most mufflers i have seen on a CRX have this problem, i think you can bend the hangers to move it up a bit and you will be fine, i havent bottomed out yet, but i dont have the rear lowered either. as for pics, none, best bang for ht ebuck in my opinion.

I have the OBX "Type H" exhaust. Sounds good and appears to have quality constuction. But the canister does hang Very low. Actually the canister is rather snug against the car but it isn't oval and flat like many mufflers. It is more of a large round shape.

I like it. I'd buy it again.

Mugen found that you don't need the whole cat-back system, since the hp and tq gains were negligable. I think that they only made axle back stuff, so I wouldn't waste the money on a whole cat-back kit.

i have heard alot of bad about obx anything. i have a custom 2.25' exhaust with a nasty 3a racing can muff. not too loud but very raspy, buzzy. it's better than the rattly dual exhaust that was on it.
