I know on some motors there are worries due to them replacing the harmonic balancer. I believe this is more of a concern with V-6 engines and such. Does a Type-R have a balancer of any sort. Don't feel like replacing any crank bearings in the future. I was wondering because I had a kind of freak experiment with lightening the crank load with my 3000GT SL. The whole crank pulley came off and the car was running of nothing but the battery turning no accessories. It made an unbelievable difference. The engine revved almost twice as fast and was quoted by other 3000GT owners that I probably gained around 25hp to the wheels since I had almost no crankload. I got a new pulley the next day, but man did it make me a believer.
Hondas don't have harmonic balancers. In fact no current Japanese car has harmonic balancers. Honda has a ruber strip between the belts on the pulley but I've been using the UR pulleys for years with zero failure rate. I say go for it but do a search and you'll find it's a controversial subject.
I thought the underdrive pulleys only replace the alternator and P/S pulleys, not the crank pulley....

I was concerned about all those non-OEM pulleys until Honda came out with their own non-rubber damping pulley for the CTR (deletes PS and AC). I doubt Honda would produce or engineer a part that significantly shortens engine life.
