suspension question....
my good friend has an rsx and wants to lower it, any suggestions on whats the best kit coilovers or springs?, any problems afterwards?, and what might be the right height to lower it...? any feedback would help.. thanx fellas.
lol...patience, sometimes this forum just moves slowly.
check out clubrsx.com - a little more active over there (as well as
increased noise-to-signal ratio), but you'll find a lot of info on what
seems to be a popular choice and what people are paying for them.
even a search on here for "springs" would probably yield some good
info.
fwiw, i'm not too familiar with choices for the rsx/type s, but on the Si
it seems that h&r's, eibach's or tein's really work well.

Nice Avator jamesr..LOL..
Well it all depends on how much money your friend has and what he plans to do with the car ie.. road coarses, daily driving, both. It all comes downt to what he wants to do with the suspension.
For a decent drop go with a nice pair of springs like the Tein S-tech or comptech which will lower you about 1-1.5 inchs.
If you want to get something you can lower and raise you may want to get a coilover that goes over the stock strut. Something like the Skunk2 coilover system may be more to your liking. But the only bad thing about a coilover that goes over the stock strut is that your stock strut will not last long if you plan to slam your car.
If you want something that you can adjust the height, dampener and plan to track you car you may want to look into something more extreme like the Tein SS, Tein Flex, or Jic's. These are a complete coilover kit that come with the struts and shocks and can be adjusted to suite your needs.
The Tein SS would be a good setup for a beginner but if you plan to go a bit more extreme you may want to look into the Tein Flex or JIC's. But with good products expect to pay a little more.
Here is a little price list on some of the parts.
Springs:
Tein S-Tech = 250.oo
Comptech= 275.00
Coilovers:
Skunk2 = 385.00
Complete coilover:
Tein SS = 1000.00
Tein Flex= 1800.00
JIC's = 1800.00
Like I said with more exteme set ups it is more expensive but you get what you pay for.
Hope this helped bro.
