over heating at idle...help?
my car overheats while i'm at idle..but when i start driving again..my car is fine..fan is working properly..i always have to refill my reserve tank with coolant..what can the problem be? water pump? radiator? head gasket? BTW, i have a 94 si. thanks in advance.
im not the cooling expert but if you have to repeatedly refill your coolant isnt that a problem in itself? im not being a smart *** just stating the obvious
start out by looking for a leak, coolant has to go somewhere, just hope it doesn't mix in with the motor oil or comes pouring out through your exhaust where it would evaporate, just show you got a weak seal somewhere. try turning on your car w/o the radiator cap, let it idle and pour in some coolant/water, and make sure you bleed the system, btw, last time you change coolant?
