Default Weird Vibe?

This is a stupid question but I'm not the brightest guy so it's alright.

I own a 2000 SI and my shifter vibrates and or shakes when the car is running.... it almost shakes at idle (not BAD) and vibrates when driving... It's not bad or distracting i was just wondering if this was normal, because my old car (92 laser) didn't vibrate at all

your racing around, killing your engine, change oil and replace the motor mounts

I jsut bought this car, never raced, it only has 32k miles, and seems to be in great condition, so can someone tell me if this is normal, and not tell me that my engine is dying from racing.

might want to check your mount inserts, they might be worn, or you can have a broken mount. You dont know what the preveouse owner did to the car, he could have raced it around, even if it does look stock, he could have done some upgrades and set it back to stock before he got rid of it.

it was on a lease with some 70 year old guy. lol

but it's just a little vibration on the stick....? this could have something to do with motor mounts? geez i didnt think this was gonna be bad.... the engine doest act funny when the car is running, quiet and doesnt vibrate, just the stick a little bit...

its probly normal... how much does it shake?

civic shifters are connected directly to the tranny afterall, you're going to feel some vibrations through them, if you dont touch it it should shake a little bit... suprized no one has mentioned this.

other types of cars have shifteres built to be isolated from the transmission.. so no vibrating or anything.. but not as much feedback either

yea theres normal little vibrations, but when my shifter was touching the heat shield, it vibrated stronger. theres a difference between normal vibrations and if the shifter was touching something else.
