I have a B18A in my civic and was wondering at what RPM does the rev limiter hit? According to the tach I have its at 7000. Was wondering if this is correct?

i think its 6800...factory tach's are usually a little off in the higher rpm ranges

 

I have an autometer tach hooked up.

 

the redline is 6800, the revlimiter is probably around 7000 or so.

 

i drive a 91 teg b18a redline is 6500rpm 92-93 is 6800 94+ b18b 7000

 

Yeah, that's correct. Redline on my '93 is 6800 and the fuel cut is 7000.

 

yup, I've hit the rev limiter a couple of times 7000 rpm

 

I accidentally hit the rev limiter in my '90 the other day... scared the crap out of me at first, I'd redlined it lots of times before but never hit the limiter... one time I mis-shifted and went from about 5500 RPM in third into second... when I saw the tach needle jump all the way to the right I was sure that I had really hurt the engine, but it still runs perfectly... I think you'd have to remove the limiter, floor the gas and hold it there for a while to hurt even a B18A though, Honda seems to know what they're doing when it comes to making engines that can handle high RPM
