Default about valves and timing,....

Can you have bent valves, and still run 180 compression in every cylinder? ( on a h22a1 ) If your timing belt were to skip 2-4 teeth, does that automatically ensure bent valves? How much difficulty is it to change valves and retainers and springs at home? What tools are needed exactly? With proper help from my mech. and all?...... thanxs guys!

Anyone near tallahassee florida, there is a 1/8 race day at a certified track that is pretty close! pm me for details!

you need a special machine to grind the valves and re-seat them.

I've got my springs, valves and everything out right now. I'm not sure what's involved in replacing the valves, but if they're not bent, just use some valve grinding compound, lap them for a while, and pop'em back in. It's not too hard to take it all apart, as long as you have all the right tools and are fairly technically inclined and know generally what you're doin.

I am more interested in finding out wether or not my valves would be bent because the timing gears skipped 2-4 teeth overall, even if the compression is 180 in every cylinder
