Default Y8 head on a Z6 block

I'm swapping a y8 head onto my Z6 block, can anyone provide a step by step, how to, like what sensors need to be hooked up or converted, etc....

what for? is your z6 head bad? if not i wouldn't swap it as the z6 head flows better. get the y8 intake manni though as it flows better. if you head is bad and this is your replacement then you really just need to get a haynes or helms repair manual and follow the steps to remove it then just swap over all the sensors that the y8 head is missing, and install in reverse order. i think that with just the head swap you don't have to worry about the y8 head being obd2, but i could be wrong. anyone else know

i've always read on here that the y8 head is better than the z6 head, and the z6 block is better than the y8 block

this has been discussed ALOT lately and an answer still hasnt clearly came out which one is better. however the common answer and what i beleive is the y8 head has better low end and the z6 head has better top end. just the other day i bought and put on a z6 head on my y8 to see what it did and in fact pulls harder on the top end and pulls less on the low end. so i am keeping the z6 one on b/c i like top end over bottem end. hope this kinda helped

I'm using the whole y8 top half of the motor, except the distributor, so what all sensors on the IM need to be dealt with?

Soooo the Z6 is a better motor than the Y8???? If so, Damn! I'm about to buy a complete Y8 motor w/36k for $500 Ecu/harness/axels/motor/tranny..allllll of it! But I want to beat my Z6 friends.

you will probly want to put the y8 distributor on too. the z6 one will not bolt up to the y8 head. if you buy a piece of crap y8 dist. for cheap you can change over ALL the internals so the wiring is correct and the dist. bolts up properly. the cap and rotor are even the same. just a tip for the swap
