Default JDM ITR Hood

Is there anyway to tell if a JDM DC2 hood is factory or a knock off?

The factory hood is made out of metal. Most knock off hoods are made from fiberglass. Also look for honda stickers on the underside of the hood, I don't think the black market companies will go as far as producing replica stickers.

make sure it's in a honda box, with the honda sticker/part number. Sure they can change the content of the box but just one more thing.

Tthe stickers don't say much since they are usually removed when painted. If you are buying this used, just make sure it's metal and heavy. My hood weighs a ton. If you are buying this new, then just look for the above mentioned characteristics.

I noticed my LS had an extremely heavy non-oem hood and that the hood on my JDM front end was also very heavy and didn't have any specific marking like an oem hood might. Anyone know FOR SURE how to tell?

I was talking about the stickers on the box.
