Current whp/ps with a B18C6
I'm just curious I have seen alot of dyno sheets for B18c5 but i'm wondering what numbers you guys are putting down. Also can you list your mods. Thanks
Same as JDM B18C-R.
170whp is about average.
I'm disregarding the '98 spec JDM motor becasue of the 4-1 exhaust manifold. I've seen 176whp out of a stock '99 JDM ITR.

Cool I was really wondering because the compression and the final drive are the same as the B18C-R but they, b18c6's, came with the crapper USDM header, why you got me. I always wondered why they gave the JDM final drive to the EDM because of the autobahn I always figured they would have given them something closer to the LS gears.
Comparing the motor to the '96 spec JDM ITR will be your best bet like I mentioned above. Almost identical besides the FD ratio. But your FD will not make any difference on the dyno.
I also wonder why the European market recieved the 4.785 final drive with such an emphasis on the autobahn.

Probably because they figured a Type R doesn't have the power to go much faster than 140mph anyway. The 4.4 FD is the wimpy "Acura" ratio
. The Honda Type R's got all the good stuff.

The EDM header is not the same as the USDM, IMO it is not even as good, although they have made an effort to make the primaries the same length they seem more restricted than the USDM ones I have seen pics off.
UKDM off of my car:-

THANK YOU Someone else that has witnessed a STOCK 98 spec JDM R with 175 WHP or better.
As for the FD the 98 spec JDM R has also different gearing from 3rd on so this evens out the top speed of the 96 spec and 98 spec.
Off the line 1, 2 gear the 98 spec has it. 3rd gear is the great equalizer and the 96 spec makes up ground. I can't seem to find the number right now but once I do I will post them the gearing of the tranny is different.

If my motor can put down 170whp stock, i'm sure .4 more in compression and a good exhaust manifold can net 6 more whp, if not more. I think the main problem is most of the '98 spec ITR's were not given a proper break-in period. It would be MY assumption, that 180whp is very possible.
The motor in question I saw was in a '97 hatch, but was completely stock besides the '99 JDM ITR swap, and using the corresponding ECU as well.
