piston to valve clearances
yo yo, what's up hondahead's
does anybody know if there are any kind of charts of what
cams will work on each application of pistons
as far as valve clearances, i wan't to run webcams and je 11:1-11.5:1
i don't wan't to clay the motor if i don't have to
thankx for any help

no i have never seen any charts or naything for this, and i don' think you ever really will, the different combinations of cams, compression ratio, valve size and valve releidf cut outs just varies to much. and as far as claying the motor i don;t know even know how to do that much when it comes toa VTEC engine, im not sure how you clay the valves for when they are in vtec becaseu thats when you have the high lift and duration. but if you can figure it out, clay it, and if you can't have your engine builder do it.
So your saying that there isn't a way to figure out clearances
w/o claying the motor
only by other peoples experiences ??
well does this tend to be more of an issue with higher compression
engine's
all motor baby

yup especially with all motor becasue the best way to make power is usually with high lift and long duration cams, and to add on top of that usually higher compression so in these cases valve clearnces become very important and very close. sometimes you can find people that have done things from their own expericnces, but best to do it one way or another, because it would be super shitty that if you built and all motor h23 vtec and the first time you hit vtec you bend 8 valves.
