It is lobster season and I want to tow a boat? NEED HELP
I realize that it is not a good thing for a honda to be towing a boat but I want lobsters! I love my set-up currently but I lack the low end grunt. I was thinking of swapping to a small *** turbo for the trip to produce low end torque. An suggestions on what size turbo priduces the most torque for the d series in the low rpm range. My only problem I beleive will be pulling the boat out of the water. I figure that my current turbo will cause some serious useless torque at 4000 and just spin the tires. I want boost off of idle. Any ideas or other suggestions. The boat would weight about 3500 lbs.

Also, if your car doesnt make enough torque normally aspirated most likely you have to be in boost for the entire time you are towing the boat. Can your car handle being in boost for an hour straight? A lot of cars cant, the heat builds up in the combustion chamber and causes detonation.
this off topic but how do u catch lobsters? i mean i kinda know how they catch them like with traps or cages of some sort but like what kinda bait and what water conditions( low/high tide, deep shallow waters etc). fishing and crabbin is my other hobby beside my car.
1) Lobster is some disgusting ****. I've yet to work with a chef that would eat it... it makes a decent base for some soup, but... *shudder*
2) Towing = high load, meaning lots of exhaust heat. Trust me you will spool, and a lot sooner than you currently do. Big rigs run very peaky, laggy turbos for this reason.
3) What everybody else said about turbo tow vehicles is true. Prolly kill your engine in short order.

When you tow something that weighs 1000 pounds more than the vehicle draggin it along, you're in for some deep ****. That's about like a 4 banger Ranger trying to tow a 27 foor Cobalt sportboat = Retarded ****.
Ever see that commercial with the New Beetle and the camper? THAT is what your car would do from tongue weight. Seriously.
Rent/Buy a truck. Preferrable a 2001ish 7.2L Ford SuperDuty Turbo Diesel.
