Default Engine Oil

Any engine oil is OK to use in accord (96 EXR) or is there any specific. Suggestion appreciated.

5w30 recommended here. 10w30 was like only for 92-96 h22a prelude VTEC motors here in the US.

but in any case, its ok to use 10w30 if you want, 5w30 too, or 5w20 if you have a newer honda/acura and its recommended. i just posted the honda recommendations.

Um... The owners manual for my '98 says 5w-30 or 10w-30 depending on climate.

my 5th gen takes 5w-30. i also use castrol or penzoil conventional oils. i would use synthetic but i change the oil every 1500 miles to keep it clean so it is not cost effective for me to pay 30 ***** every 1500 miles for synthetic vs 15 ***** for a whole case of conventional

Yup, here's Hondas new recommendations from their september 2000 service news. 98 and newer Accords and 96 and newer Civics are the only changes.
