G2 Integra...good track car?
Well since i cant search for "DA" "2G" etc..., i figured id post this up.
Once i save up some cash i'd be interested in getting a primarily track/autox only car..something cheap but still fun. Im not a huge fan of CRX's (6'3, not comfortable for me) but the thought of a 90-93 Integra RS/LS has crossed my mind.
Does anyone here track such a car, primarily stock engine but suspension mods? Also, what are some preffered setups? And standard specs?
Sorry for the newb questions. Thanks in advance.

There are people racing it in ITA (Improved Touring: SCCA) and it has the formula to be pretty competitve with the CRXs. There haven't been a lot of people running one, but the RSs don't weigh much and the B18a is a torquey motor (relatively speaking). Member "Roldan" has an ITA G2.
Edit: He also has an ITC 93 LS. You may be able to find him here or on http://www.g2ic.com.
Also, it would make an excellent Honda Challenge H5 car (probably H4 too).
You need to get started first, though. I suggest running through the NASA HPDE ranks and finally getting your license: http://www.nasaproracing.com. My 92 GSR is not a track car, since it's my daily driver (and my only car for that matter). I would like to buy a 92 RS and build it for H5. Maybe if I get stupider (and richer), I'll race my GSR in H3...

bulldog_RS20 seems to be doing well in his G2 teg.
just out of curiosity, have you ever acually sat in a G2 CRX? I'm 6'7" and I think there's more room in a CRX than just about any other Import I've ever sat in. (and in my buisness, I've sat in them all) I can acually straighten my legs all the way out with the seat back.

if you want a G2 integra the 92-93 LS or RS is the one to have its got 10HP more than the 91model. And they are heavy but do handle great if setup right and its got so much torgue coming out of the corner it out acceerates cars with more HP I love it. runs almost even with the fast running CRX's.

I have sat and driven many 88-91 CRX's, its not that there's a lack of room, i just dont feel comfortable in them...something about the seating position in relation to the steering wheel. I dunno, something i cant explain...
Also...what kinda weights are your cars at in "race" trim? I know the HC minimum is 2500, is this true for most other classes as well?

Mine works pretty well for autox, track days and Solo - I. I run my car exactly the way you're thinking of, no engine mods and a few suspension mods. I don't think it's a great autoX car but on the track its wonderful.
My set up: Springs- 448lb F , 560 R. Shocks- KYB AGX (Crappy I know, I have Konis in the garage but no time to install them).
One thing though, I'm only 5'10" and my helmet hits the roof sometimes.

There's alot of good info there... but they're not much in to road racing and open
tracking.
I have one for sale... if Kirk doesnt take it. I've already covered the 10HP difference by swapping the more desireable components
(see sig). Its been a blast on track.
