Default 88 Crx Si - $1000...Good Deal?

Umm it's my buddys & I haven't been in the late model thing for awhile so is $1000 good? He is doing some body work on it now, remold the body kit, cover up some rust, not exactly sure how he is doing it all, full catback exhaust, short ram intake, short shifter, 130k or 140k i forget...painted black interior, umm...i think that's all, so what do you guys think? good deal? thanks.

Well he got it for like $600 but he is doing the needed body work finally & it has the exhaust, intake & shifter now. It has coilovers too. Hopefully i'll be able to get some new Si wheels with it.

Make sure he removes the rust completely and doesn't just cover it up! Otherwise you'll have more problems than you'd think. That rust will keep growing and show up in surrounding spots. But if it's done right that's a great price! I paid that much for my 88 STD

Ya I gotta check how he is going to handle the rust issue...Hopefully he will do it right, I paid $300 for my 90 STD but it had a blown head gasket (the guy had all the parts, just couldn't get 1 bolt off haha)

sweet deal...if it runs also, make sure it passes smog...nothing like buying a car and not passing smog
i'm assuming that you in IL have smog laws...right?

Ha, thanks for the replies, We actually don't have smog in our county. I'm not sure why but he bought the car from Missouri a few months ago & it passed smog there & it seems to be running fine so it should be ok. Thanks alot.
