Yes thats one, I have seen infomertials on that. I believe they claim it uses "Linkayte"(spelling).
According to the informetial, it is a treatment for the engine, transmission & fuel. But it is not intended to replace the oil. It provides better protection bcz the substance can lubricate better than oil.

I heard it was mineral oil with food coloring in it. Aren't they getting sued?

It an old idea with a new twist. Slick 50 used to claim the same thing - then came all the copycats.

If you change the oil regularly on your car - you won't need this stuff - especially on a newer motor. On an old truck motor or something - you might see an improvement - but otherwise you might as well smoke the stuff.

There's lots and lots of snake oil peddlars out there...beware!

I heard Slick 50 got in trouble too. I heard it shortens engine life.

Thanks for that link.
I read it & it seems that they are getting sued & all the other marketers like Dura Lube, Motor Up, Prolong, Valvoline, Slick 50 and STP got sued also.

Thanks for the info. Now I know not to buy it.

It's funny how all the names sound like marital aids/sex lubes. Duralube! Prolong! I like MotorUp the best! heh heh

Maybe use it to wash parts with

Regular oil (changed on a frequent basis) should be just fine.

What is funny... most of the people that use Slick50/Zmax/etc.... think that the Nascar racers (from advertising) uses the treatments in their race cars...

Don't they rebuild their engines after every race anyway? What the hell would them using it prove?

I've used it before in my old 84 accord. Didin't feel any difference so i say don't use it. Also had to replace the tranny after a few mos (it came with a tranny treatment) but am not sure if that killed it.

I used it on my 92 integra LS. But it got stolen not too long after so dont know if it made a difference. Didn't make the car run worse though.
