Anybody have any good pics of the 94006 Carsound cat with the flanges and everything welded on, ready to bolt on? Looking for pics both off the car and installed. Thanks a lot.

Perfect, thanks a lot guys! Thanks for the emails also Mike and Jason. One other question, will the pictured cat above bolt on to a stock Type R? Or does it require any adapters, JDM 2½" collector etc? I plan on running stock USDM header, and B pipe TEMPORARILY with the Carsound cat and a Mugen Twin Loop Muffler. I have a good exhaust guy that can do any modifications for me real cheap so current or future modifications to the exhaust isn't an issue. I'll also Dyno the Exhaust setup as soon as I'm done if anyone is at all interested. I just got my baseline Dyno with no mods, so I can find out the real gains.

on the topic,

does a carsound cat bolt in to a system with a comptech 4-2-1 header and stock exhaust

would i just get the 2 1/4 inlet/outlet cat?

If you are using a CompTech/DC/Greddy etc. 4-2-1 or stock they all have 2" collectors. You can't run the 94006 since the flare end of the cat would swallow the 2" donut. Burp. I use the 94005 (2-1/4") cat for these applications, it needs to be a little longer than the 94006 when used with a JDM type header, but it's not a problem. The cat outlet will be 2-1/4" ID so you can still have a mismatch depending on what exhaust you are running.

The model above is a 53006 for the JDM ITR B Pipe and 94-99 GSR
USDM ITR B pipe or 00-01 GSR and SI use the 94006 which is a longer body

 

will the 94016 work with a jdm header?? And where can I get all correct flanges I need for the install??

 

Yes, the 94016 will work but why do you want to use a cat with an air tube if it's not needed? I can supply you with any parts you need to do it yourself.

 

Oh, looky what I just got in the mail. Its for a JDM header with a 2.5 collector to bolt up to the stock ITR exhaust... sweet

Do carsound cats comply with emissions regulations? I mean i know they're cats but I think i've heard somewhere they're only marginally better interms of emissions than a test pipe...

 

They are made in CA and are EPA and CARB approved.
