coming home from work and i can hear this tapping! i think it could the crank bearings and the top end is rattling aswell! can anyone please tell me how to adjust bits underneath the valve cover! Its a d16z6 do not have a helmes manual would be eternally grateful for any help!

.18-.22mm (.007-.009in.) Intake
.23-.27mm (.009-.011in.) Exhaust

You HAVE to have the engine DEAD cold... UNDER 100 degrees F... NOT at or above...

those are the specs...

As far as procedure...

You start by putting the engine at #1 TDC... then you adjust those valves...

turn the crank 180 (cam moves 90) and do number 3 valves
turn the crank 180 (cam moves 90) and do number 4 valves
turn the crank 180 (cam moves 90) and do number 2 valves

 

however if you SUDDENLY started to hear tapping and knocking chances are something went and an adjustment won't help...
