Adding TV/DVD/Playstation whatever to your car... Fuse Box question..
I'm going to be installing some Foglights this weekend, and I want them to be wired so I can turn them off and on at my leisure. I'm going to put the switch on the center console..
As for the power, people say to wire it to an empty "slot" in the fuse box. Apparently there's 3 or 4 empty slots we can use?
This is the fuse box under the dash, correct? Where you pull out that tray and you get a diagram of the fuses?
Where do you plug in the wire for the Foglights? I guess I don't really get it.. and what about a fuse if the wires get to hot? Or, do you plug it into something with a fuse already on it...? I dunno, help!

for fog lights, i don't remember using the fuse box at all. i think, there's a power wire that goes to the battery and on that wire is it's own fues thing. i'm using catz lights for an example. then you have a switch from the lights that you run through the fire wall and mount wherever you want. as for tv, dvd, ps....my tv is tapped off a power source and i use a power invertor for my ps2.
Hmm..maybe, I'm not sure what comes with my foglights. But I've read that people can tap into the fuse box to power accessories..
Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I know what you are talking about.
In your fusebox below your dash near your left knee is a kind of a door/slot that opens and reveals your fuse box.
I believe on the fuseboss you will see a bunch of fuses (obviously)
If you look above all those you will see a row of slots that have make plugs that look like a screw driver head.
I believe it is the very first slot that has a 12volt constant to it.
You can check by using a test light. All you have to do is ground the test light by conntecting it to the door hinge and touch that slot. If it lights then you have power if not your out of luck.
I think the slot next to it is connected to your praking lights so if you want to have your fogs to turn on when you have the bumper lights on you can connect it there. Most people connect there indiglo lights here.
Email me if you need more help or I just simply make no sese.

And when connecting to those "fuse slots" add an "inline" fuse to whatever your going to hook, those slots actually bypass the fuse circuits so you have to add your own fuse...
K, yeah that's pretty much what I thought I read before.
But if the foglights come with all that stuff I won't need to worry about it. It's nice to know though.
Thanks!

Nerdish if you are still having problems with the fog light install gimme an email at nogas2race@yahoo.com.. ill send u a diagram on how to do it..and do it neatly. I have 6 yrs of installation experience with foglight/alarm/ etc..
If it's a new set of foglights, then it should come with all the wiring and instruction diagrams. First of all, there should be a relay that comes with the kit. One wire will be tapped in directly to the power for constant (battery), and another one (the accessory wire) will be tapped into the parking light so you can only turn it on only when the parking lights are on. If you want your fogs to turn on when you don't have your lights on, then just wire the accesory wire to the same constant positive battery wire that u used for power. The rest of the wiring like the ground and switch should be pretty much self explanatory...
Good luck!
