Default SOMETHINGS F-ED UP with my car.

okay, ever since i got my car it would heat up when im at a stop after a few minutes but when i rev or start driving it would return to normal. i got my timing belt and a tune up done recently, drove it for about 2 weeks, then i didnt drive it for about three weeks because i was getting new rims and my tires were almost gone due to a bent steering knuckle (my lude was salvaged, 4th gen). Now it's been heating up to about the first line after the normal temp level even when im driving down the highway, and i know its not anything with fans. when im at an idle, my car will idle reaaal rough on and off, time to time. It also sounds like it doesnt want to feed out the exhaust.. I read somewhere that it might have to do with the valves being bent, but i dont think that could be possible. the honda guys said i dont need a valve adjustment. whats goin on?.. .help!

Sounds like maybe they didn't align the balance shafts up right, or water pump sealing problem, something around there.

Check the coolant level and make sure you're not leaking anything. Keep us posted.

of course coolant and oil were the first things i checked.. but eh.. iono. they said that they would inspect the water pump in the timing belt change, so it might not be that or unless theyre idiots. prob balance shafts.. im taking it up there tomorrow or something bc im ticked off..

Have you checked to make sure the fans come on other than turning on the a/c? Have you flushed your coolant ever?

They best not get attitude either. I've seen some dumbasses who get attitude because they don't want to rip apart the car again.

Yeah why the hell would they not replace the water pump while they had it all apart?! It's not that much money and I would rather spend a few extra bucks at that point than have the thing blow a month later and have to take that **** apart again.

BTW - Check the weep holes on the water pump to see if any coolant is leaking out of there. Usually if there is your pump is shot.

you expect honda to do a good job but yeh.. yeah the did all my fluids so its not that. my bf checked to see if i had a blown head gasket and i dont. but i will soon if i dont fix it. i know its not the fans bc they come on.. although at first i thought it was bc it took a while for them to but i guess thats natural.

it may be the thermostat (but i think its more than that) but im going to spend the 10 bucks and swap it out on saturday. hopefully that will help. I have an appointment with honda next thursday so i guess i have to pull over whenever my car heats up for the next week if the thermostat does not help..

installed the new thermostat.. didnt help one bit. i put the old thermostat in a pot of boiling water, and it opened up, so it was working. but eh, at least i got a new thermostat? its idling real rough.. like you can feel the floor of the car shakin. its pissing me off. those ******** def fucked something up. If they did, im going to tell them to get me a new ******* engine.. bc now my cars never going to be the same again. those asses. they tell me i dont need a valve adjustment, yet i hear it clicking away. i think they just told me that so i can come back when my valves are all bent and they try to say i fucked it up... im infuriated. i think it is something with the fans because they miscellaneously come on whenever they want.. but i know its more than just that. does anyone know what the ground on the right side of the valve cover for? because they def forgot to connect that. how can someone be so careless?? ill take a picture sometime.

Timing is off most likely and balance shafts aren't aligned. Tell them how it is.

no.. my car still heats up while im doing 70-75.. so it is more than just the fans.. i work and go to school every day except thursday in which i only go to school for 4 hours and they will be taking away my only day off... so im def going to threaten them! and keep in my mind, this is a very reputable dealer chain.

im going to write a list of every single little thing that it has been doing wrong, because i know they wont listen to a word i friggen say..
