Default Is my car running lean??

I have just stroke up my b16b to 1.8 (which is same as B18C) and rebulid the whole engine with Jun 3 cams and os ctr pistons (Cr aroung 12:1). I also have a power fc with the base map at the moment and I will be getting it tune after the car run in for about 1000 miles.

Is it safe to run in the engine without tuing the car with that high compression? Will the car be running lean on fuel?? and causes detonation?? But I cant really get the car tune now because they will have to drive it hard and the engine has not ran in yet. What shall I do??

I also have not got any fuel managemnet mod on it yet?? Is it necessary?? Will the B16b injectors be enough?? Is there any signs or things I can look out for if the car is running lean??

Thanks very much in advance for any help.

Andy

seems ur car is pretty modded... why not err on the side of safety and beef up the fuel system just to be on the safe side.

compression is a lot higher than 12.
You will want to get larger injectors.

I would bump the fuel pressure up a bit and drive it VERY CAREFULLY.

Thanks,

Is fuel regulator enough or will I need the injectors as well?

Is rc 440c.c good enough.

Thanks again

Before you get it tuned, pick both the injectors and the regulator up. You won't be getting tuned to your full potential if you dont.

Im sure sgT has an accurate injector size for you, I honestly don't know, but 440's sound like a little overkill to me for your setup.

No such thing as overkill for fuel really. You can never have too much, only too little.

440s would be fine for you.

Can anyone recommend cheapest place to get rc injectors please. (370c.c or 440c.c.)

Is it true that I also need some clips with the injectors to go with my EK9??

Is my car OBD1 or OBD2??

Thanks

to be on the safe side this is what i would recommend

440 cc injectors

bump the fuel up slightly till you tune it properly

to be really safe running the highest octane fuel you can get
and retard the timing a few degrees.

or if you really wanna be safe get a wideband sensor/reader

Thanks for all the help.

I have spoke to the mechanics and he has retard the timimg on it and he said it should be ok for about 800 miles as long as I take it easy with the throttle.

Thanks

when denotation occurs, the check engine light will blink. That is a feature that is offered with the power fc.

i am basically running the same set up..
gsr block, ctr piston, crane 2 cams *runing on ctrs right now, itr head.
I am using prelude injectors and my duty cycle right now is only at 77%.
are you using the commander to tune or are you tunning from a laptop?

if you are really worried, i think u can run the stock si ecu or itr ecu, until the break in period is over. Tunning the power fc on the laptop, we were able to get ride of the denation before we even hit the dyno. My timing is set at 16 degrees, and have no problems.

I am not sure if i have helped you, but if u need more info, i'll be happy to help.
