Well if the thread is stripped I don't think you can. Don't they sell some re-threading kits? If all else fails just get a new oil pan.

I had to get a new oil pan, which I used for 2 months & then got a ZC that came w/ a pretty new pan, so now I have an extra oil pan laying around that is virtually brand new *hint*hint*

Go to Pep Boys and get an oversized drain plug...company is called Oil-Tite. The plugs are in the back by the coolant and oil. Also grab Permatex Ultra-copper and lace the threads with it and dab a little around the plug once it's been tightend. Been doing that on my lude and it never leaks.

damn he can almost get a spoon magnetic drain plug for 40 bucks, go to pep boys, i think there less then 5 bux for a magnetic one, if the bolt is the problem, if the pan is the problem than, buy a new one.

This happened to me a couple of years ago. There was a local engineering guy that I used who put a helicoil into my oil pan. A helicoil is described in the following link for those who would like to know:

http://www.hillcliff-tools.com/helicoil.html

Whats funny is that the guy told me that Honda's are notorious for having this problem and that he spends most of his time working for the local Honda Dealership putting helicoils in the oil pans of customers cars which the mechanics strip when servicing!

It cost me about £5 (about $8US) to get it fitted and it never gave me anymore trouble. You have just got to be careful not to overtighten the drain plug after an oil change.

Hope this helps.
