Default EG brake problem

ok, i can pull up to a stoplight and hold the brake, then the pedle goes lower and lower until i pump it. where should i start to check. this only happens when idling at a stop light. when the pedle gets to the floor i have no braking abilities at all until i pump them.

First thing I would check would be the brake fluid level.

over time the seals inside the master cylinder piston, wear out and allow fluid to leak around them. this is an internal passage of fluid. you wont see a leak. you need to replace themaster cylinder and belld the system.

goto autozone, get a master cylinder, i got mine for like $30 after the core charge of like $40. Your gonna need some brake fluid for the bleed, and some plastic tubing like you would use on fish tanks, for the air... then like a empty bottle or bucket to empty the bleed into.

Do a search here for "brake bleeding" thats how i was able to do mine.

But seriously.. my car did the same thing, and it was my master cylinder.

like they said, it sounds like your master cylinder is going out, especially if the fluid is filled, that happened to me before. you have to kinda stick your foot under the brake pedal to lift it, so you can brake...that sucks...just swap out the MC, make sure the brakes are bled properly, and you should be fine
