well the last py itr that sold up here was a 00' with 27k miles and it sold for $20,000
kelly blue book wholesale on my car is $32,800 plus my car is honda certified with a 7yr warranty. That price is high but I need somewhere in the $30-31k for it.

You're asking way too much. Sorry, but most of us could sell our R's to someone out there for $24,000 plus. Maybe no one on this board...but someone. Anyway, if that was the case we could then go buy a new S2K for 8,000 more or a used one for even less. If you're posting a trade here at least try and give a better than average deal. Hell, you can't even get a factual pricing report for a newer R because there is no where near enough turn over. People seem to forget you don't see one around every corner. Not saying my $hit smells better than yours, just saying...
go to edmunds.com and that will tell you reality neither one of our cars are worth what we would like to think
I will work with you though

edmunds.com can tell you what your car is theoretically 'worth', but what someone is willing to pay for it is another matter entirely.
personally, i would only pay $28K for a '00 S2K with 13K miles. i see them all over the place up here, and i live in VT. i already inquired at my local honda dealer and they can get me one for MSRP, AND were willing to give me $22K in trade for my '01 ITR!
my point? don't rely on edmunds.com or any of those other places to fairly assess what a rare car like the ITR is worth.

I think edmunds is taking a stab in the dark at the value of the 2k ITR. Kelly Blue Book still doesn't have a value for it yet.
Got to http://www.cars.com and do a search for year 2000 S2000s. There are many with very low mileage available for ~$28k. Getting $23k for a low mileage 2000 Type-R would be easy. Paying more than $5k to upgrade would not be sensible.
And I have always been suspicious of Edumund's used price estimates. I sometimes think they just make up their numbers. In any case, KBB is the de facto industry standard.

edmunds list a 00 itr for around $20k. and thats exactly what the last one out here sold for with py with 27k miles. They list the 98itr at around 17 and there is one for sale up here for 18k. I think its pretty close. it also lists 00 si for in the 16's range and there are plenty of them selling for that and even less. If you guys think you should be able to trade a 00itr with $5k for a s2k thats a little dumb. that means my s2k is worth about $25k. dealership will give me $28k cash.
our cars are a lot more rare than the s2000 which in my book would mean you should give us some $$$$ to trade since our car will hold there value down the road and yours will not. It is sad but ture
You guys are acting like R's are hard to find. FYI--look in any online listing and you'll see a ton of them up for sale. They only stickered for ~$25K new, and when you factor in the age/mileage, you'd be lucky to get $20K. Those who wanted tghem bad enough probably have them by now, thanks to the 2001 release.
I have never seen a Y2k ITR going for $20k. Asking price is typically in the $22k to $23 range (and sometimes higher). You would be very lucky to get one for $20k. The market price of a vehicle is what the market is willing to pay - not what a single individual is willing to pay. I bought a new 1999 Civic Si two years ago for $16.5k - the current market rate for used ones is higher than that.
Go to cars.com, classifieds2000.com and tranderonline.com - you will have no difficulty finding S2000s for $28k. You will not find 2000 Type-Rs for $20k though.

so go find a sucker somewhere else... I've seen you get no satisfaction here...
"dealership will give me $28k cash"... you said it your self... there is one born every sec...

yea dealers are there to make money off of you! thats why I want to trade with someone who wants my car so that no one makes money just 2 happy people. I love how you say that a y2k never sells for 20k when Im looking my old autotrader with the car in and i also test drove it but couldnt sell my car in time. thanks for calling me a lier. you dont think those people who are asking 22 wouldnt ever take 20? please!
The ITR youre talking about seemed to have mileage on the high side and perhaps the owner didnt exactly know what he could have gotten for his car. Seeing one 2000 ITR for 20k does not mean all 2000 ITRs should sell for 20k. Look around more at type-r's for sale. Cheaper ones on this forum go for 22.5k for a 2000. Its not uncommon to see one at 24-25k. Do more shopping and youll see the offers these guys have thrown at you should be considered good. Just a suggestion.
i see lots of asking prices of 22-23 thats asking though most people will cut down if they need $ you know that. plus know one is saying anything except chris who said his car plus 5k.
