I know this subject has been covered 1,000 times but In my search i didn't find my answer. So my question is, I am going to boost a sh (or base) prelude to around 280 or above. Does atts break at 280+ hp? or do I have to reset something? Lets say I take a corner and give it half gas, could the atts handle it since it's not up to full power? I like the atts Idea but turboing sounds sweet.
is atts active even when you are going straight?

i am not sure about AEM EMS or if you got your ecu programed. but if you boost you will need a new ECU. at least you know you cant keep your ATTS with a hondata.

yeah you can take it out. then you basically have a base lude.

Stupid question:
Is there an ATTS fuse you can just pull to "disable" it? I'm hoping there is a simple fix of that nature. My buddy is planning on turbocharging his SH in a few months.
Thanks.

of course it can.

ATTS and boost is quiet a pain. It's gone off on me alot of times and its usually in the worst time. You can take out atts, but requires a bit of modification. The base tranny will not bolt directly in to the SH block without fabricating a bracket. There is a fuse that will disable it, and if you run a standalone such as hondata and even the aem ems and greddy, atts will not work. One of the few that I know of that will work with atts is the EFI pms. If I were you I would get a base and put a mechanical LSD that would work way better.

Its more the torque than the horsepower that makes it give out. Most report about 230 ft.lbs before the atts gives out, some report a lot less. The atts system gives out in the most inopertune times (like in the middle of a corner at half or full boost) causing a instant understeer push. Atts is a weard breed but for straight line it acts like an open diffrental sometimes and locked sometimes (mine does one wheel burnouts at the track but pulls straight with almost no torque steer) but on the street it lays down dark black twin stripes like a clutch pack diff.. During cornering it acts like quaffe with seamless operation of power to the outside tire. I havent had any problems with mine but in not to the point where it matters yet.
Serious boost kills ATTS get a LSD.

there is a wire to disconnect the ATTS. you'll be wasting too much time/money to take the whole unit out, just trade it in for a base.
someone on here has a boosted SH, he said it's easy to disconnect ATTS. the only thing is it'll be dead weight.

this is my next task in about 6 more months but, you will have to have a plate fabbed for the back of the block and get a base tranny with the intermediate shaft and of course the lsd. there is a write up on this site somewhere and on po as well.
