PICS - Driving along the 'Great Ocean Road', Australia... (56K)
Greetings,
Myself and my trusty DC2-ITR.... drove my USA connection Andy (aka 'Motab') - who's been working here in Melbourne, since December 2002 - along the 'Great Ocean Road' today (6th August).
Thanks Andy, for yet again trusting my enthusiastic driving.... "You can be my Wingman any time!"
This road is about 2 hrs drive SW of Melbourne (Australia) and as the name suggests.... it runs along the coast for approximately 200+kms (120 miles) of fantastic scenary and driving!!
Thought you guys might appreciate 'some' of the photos?!

Great Pictures man!!
I love all the pics, especially in particular the (think 4th?) one from the top. With the red itr on the bottom left hand corner of the frame.
Great car, great scenery, great day, great camera, great pictures

You'd best consult your local Travel Agent for those details.
But I can suggest, that you'd want to spend more than 1 week here (more like 1+ months!).... certainly after a ~20hr flight (from LA to Melbourne).

That was my favourite picture also.... well at least of the ones including the car!
Yes, it certainly was a 'great' day all round....!!

Unless you have already checked with your immigration officials and you know they're ready for the onslaught, you might want to stop posting for a while.

If you needed any more convincing.... here are a few links to MANY more pictures, from some of my old threads (some pictures aren't there any more, but most are)!!

Sorry I missed you dude (I haven't been on HT for a while).... I would have happily 'piloted' you along the GOR, just so I could drive it AGAIN!!
Maybe I should setup a business, running 'thrill seeker' tours along such roads!?

Beautiful pix. I did the same drive (in an automatic Camry) in November, and took some pix that wowed everybody here, but I won't bother posting. Yours are much better.
IIRC, my plane ticket was $1700, but it was totally last second. Much cheaper in advance. I think the LA to Sydney leg was 14 hours in the air. About 30 hours Atlanta to Melbourne with all the layovers. And worth every minute of it. I'd go back in a heartbeat...
