Default $800 for longblock b18b1 -- Good?

A friend of mine wants to sell me his b18b for $800 he is including everything bolted to the engine as a far as I know.

I justed wanted to know if that was a good price, and what else I would need to install this thing if I bought it.

You could find a better deal for a b18 at your local junkyard

First of all.. I would really like to know where to get one shipped for better than $800.. I would definately purchase one..

Also, this engine I'm thinking about buying already has some things changed on it.. underdrive pulleys, aem fuel rail, 8.8mm(i think) plug wires, not sure what else.. not major parts, but aftermarket anyways...

more input please! I need to know before I spend my student loan money!

you gotta think about the state that you live in. im sure parts arent as plentiful like they are here in cali.. out here we can pick up a b18b for about 3-400 for a really clean one. that might be a fair price where you live.

ahh.. is longblock an engine with no tranny? because if so I may be saying it wrong... as far as i know, I get the tranny with the engine.. and the seller only lives about 7 miles from my house.. plus him and my brother have already offered to install it for free if I buy.

Once I bought it I would still need motor mounts and mpfi parts wouldn't I? ... I need to read into it more.. I really want more power.. d15 sucks!! so does 4spd!

The B18B was also available with OBDI electronics in 1994-1995. As for the price, it might not be too bad shipped. But if you have to pick up, pass on it.

exactly us cali people are fortunate because there are so many available out here, simple economics supply and demand...more product means cheaper prices...less product means more expensive.

I got my B18A swap for $850. That included tranny, axles, ecu, entire wiring harness, everything, try to get him to come down on that price if all you are getting is the longblock.

you wanna pay $800 for a long block? the head is completely useless unless you plan to go turbo with a non-vtec motor. if you go LS/VTEC, then the longblock is over priced...
