My car idles below 600 rpms at times. Sometimes the idle will dip down really low after I take my foot off of the gas. I replaced my timing belt at around 90k. I have about 126k on it now. Does this have anthing to do with the timing? I also seem to keep on losing motor oil after a week or two of driving. I don't see any leaks, so is my car burning oil...? and could this be associated with the timing belt / or water pump (which I replaced at the same time)? I also add coolant to the resevoir, and it goes all the way back down really fast. Is this normal? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

 

i hope you find out... my car does the same idling problem, at a complete stop after i let go of the gas... the rpms drop very low then come back up to normal idle rpms... and my car's horrible on gas. hope someone knows why.

 

check your timing and jump you connector on the side of the dashboard and raise the idle by turning the idle screw

 

anyone who fixes an idle problem with the idle adjustment screw is an idiot and shouldnt be allowed to work on cars

 

what would you suggest to do then?
