Default Please help! Replacing water pump on 88 prelude

I'm working on a 88 prelude for a friend of mone, and I know next to nothing about japanese cars. I understand so far that the timing belt is directly linked to the water pump, and thats about it.

How easy is this job? It seems like a major PITA to me, but maybe I don't know the tricks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, it is a real PIA to change. You need to remove the timing belt and covers. Unfortunately that means you also have to pull the p/s pump and alt. It really isn't hard, just very time consuming. My only real suggestion is, once you have the accessories pulled, work at the water pump from under the car. It's a lot easier to get at that way.
