According to A&J Racing Motorsports "the Spoon N1 is dynoed
at 5whp. " and for the sports muffler "there isn't a large performance
increase".

Spoon N1 has higher exhaust efficiency then the sport one. You will see a better pull during mid-high rpm. The sports muffler is a multi-chamber design, this is for better ON/OFF throttle response. N1 weighs 3.8kg / sports weigh around 5.8kg.
FMO, I will prefer the sports muffler for the street and if you don't mind a bit louder then N1 for sure.

why u guy spend your $$$ for a rear muffler ONLY? I just order a set of sheepdog cat-back exhaust for my ITR today from N.V. Plus in Richmond. I just cost me $699 Canadian dollars...... I think it should be less than $500 US.
cause spoon is spoon.. bahhhhh...... honestly i sorta want to have as many spoon goodies as i can get my hands on.. also i like to have a smaller looking canister then something a size of greddy and etc..
spoon is spoon... they only do slow car... never heart of spoon can modifly a Honda F1, JGTC, F3, etc, like Mugen... even in the latest N1 race (ppl always think Spoon did well in this kind of N1 race) in Japan, they lost, and only run 6th (check it out it spoon japan site plz), Mugen Beam ITR win... don't understand why ppl like spoon? or ppl like to use "factory" parts?
I used to have Spoon N1 muffler before, all I can say is it is LOUD, but very light weight. So, if you don't mind you can't listen to what your gf say to you or think the 10lbs or so that the muffler safe you can win you a race, then go for it!! BTW, I love their small tip, but that is not enough for me keep it. So I went with the fully stainless steel Kakimoto cat back exhaust for $200 more!!!
The Sport one is also stock look and quiet, but I would recommend you to get the Mugen muffler if you are willing to spend that much on a muffler!!

Umm they're two different companys anyway. Maybe u forgot what kinda background and fund sources Mugen got? They simply won't care about street cars so much coz they are making tons of money on building Indy, JGTC, F-1 engines etc. But SPOON focus on street and track performance instead.
Another way to compare, Mugen is like Versace jeans when SPOON are like Calvin Klein, Levi's or Diesel. That Mugen is pretty classy and yuppier than SPOON.

Like VTEC2DaLimit said SPOON concentrate on tuning street&race Honda. Many racers in Japan mentioned that they are doing a great job on setting up their cars.
I don't think the Mugen twin loop are that good when they're so heavy and quiet. Yes it keeps your low and mid end but u won't have much gain with it. I test drove two EK4 in HK one with Mugen twin loop and one with SPOON sports muffler. SPOON works better when u're on/off the throttle around corners and in the traffic. The twin loop's reaction is kinda too soft to me.
Actually I won't mind the noise from the SPOON N1. Coz it isn't that annoying when u compare that with 5Zigen Border304 speed catback and RS*R Exmag GT2 catback. I will get SPOON N1 coz of the weight and power it provide.

a sheep feeding a dog with a spoon!?
Power_FC - Why didn't u get mugen exhaust then? Since it's so much better than spoon. Hmm does sheepdog play an important role in racing events?

i have a Spoon N-1 and i love the way it sounds. sure, u can get mugen, but the performance factor isnt as good as the N-1. all N-1's are pretty simular, they are straight through designs. it is a bit loud, but its really smooth.
how can you complain about a brand that fits PERFECTLY everytime with OEM quality???
Spoon doesnt have the extreme power that you can get from other brands, but for reliability especially for street use, i wont use anything else.
