Put your key in the ignition turn it to the ON position and you should here the fuel pump kick on. Like a zzzzzzz sound. If you turn the key to the ON position and don't here nothin then its prob your fuel pump. Or just take the fuel line off of your fuel rail turn the key to the ON position and see if any fuel starts to gush out if it doesn't your fuel pump is bad.

i know its under the rear seat. the problem is that the thing under the seat is just the float. so out comes the gas tank.

it could be the main relay cause that powers the fuel pump. When you put yhe key to pos 2 it is the main relay that powers the fuel pump for 2 seconds. A lot of ppl have been having this problem recently, Mine had the same problem, I changed the main relay and it was fine. Check to see if it makes the whirring sound in pos 2 though. You can get a new main relay at the honda dealer for 50-60 bucks.

Change the relay, Its much cheaper compared to the fuel pump, and its easier.

Go to that link and it will help you with the swap. I had to pay something like $70.43 or around that price. On the website it shows you how to re-solder it, its easier and safer (being that if you don't solder it good enough it will just fail). Its all the same on all CRX's, and easy too.
