What size socket for the axle bolt and where do I buy it.
Ok I am going to do another tranny swap in a few weeks, this will be number 3. The last 2 times I did the tranny install with out taking my axels out of the rotor. I figured it would be a lot easier by taking off this bolt. What size is it and where do I buy it. I have checked home depot, napa, and autozone and they didn't have it last time I checked. Please help me out on this one.
I got mine at Sears/Home Depot. Anyplace that sells tools. It is a big socket. 22mm x 1.5

That stake will not hold up to the force of a 4-ft. or longer breaker bar
Also I think I bought mine at Pep Boys, AutoZone should have it also. 32mm 1/2" drive.

the stake might not.. but i've had a couple reallie stuborn axle nuts.. that when used with a 4 ft breaker bar.. the breaker bar broke.
i got on off with a chisel and a dremel tool ,but that would have to be the last thing i would recommend trying. Sometimes the impact wrench just wont take them off.
