How much would u pay for a theft salvaged Type R?
what would u pay for a Theft Salvaged ITR, motor and interior were stolen but have been replaced. motor is a jdm spec r with 20k miles. has a 98 JDM ITR front end. has ground controls. sorry for not having more info but i just want to get any idea of how much you would pay for it?if you could help me out i would really appreciate it because this is not for me but for a friend. i will have complete information and pictures up soon in the Classified section. he just wants an idea of how much poeple are willing to pay, this doesnt mean it will be the price but who knows?
It depends if you are going to keep it for a while because its defeniately not worth purchasing and selling again because it will not be worth near the money you pay for it .
its up for sale right now, but he doesnt kno the price so hes just looking for some offers. reason hes selling it is to buy a house.
a kid, that lives near me recently bought an r title car. it had the interior, and 5 lug, just had no engine. it has since been replaced with a new b18c5(dunno where the hell they got it) but i have been hearing that he would like to sell it for 10g's

SGD, so it has a salvage title, but has all the factory interior/seats and has a B18C in it? wild.. why replace all that then sell it? do you think he'll ever set a price?
2.2Lcivic, what year was that R?
I've begun shopping around for a theft recovery or a totalled R that can have its frame straightened..

Im kind of wondering the same thing. Why replace the motor and interior then sell it? He must have $$$.
Well my friend bought an R 2 yrs ago. Its theft recovery, however on the CarFax report it states clean title. The car was not movable. Bashed windows all around, body dented up, roof bashed, no front/rear seats, no steering weel, center console(armerest), no radio, no clock... the works... Oh, did i forget to mention... blown motor!
The guy that sold it to him told him the motor was still good.
But anyways... He bought the car for 5 g's. So i would think that for your friend... 10 g's would be a good price to sell it. Just make sure that he gets his money's worth for what he invested into the car.

my buddy just bought a 98 itr that was a complete shell, even had to replace the heater core.. get got it for 900.00 and just swapped all the itr parts form his EG. roughly one can be made for 9,000.00
It all comes down to what is it worth to you. The car has been salvaged it hase no real value anymore. It is worth what the seller is willing to sell it for and what you are willing to buy it for. I am a cheap bastard so I say offer him 8gs as long as everything is legit. Like it's not stolen parts or anything like that. The fact that he is selling it after he restored it tell me that he got the Car for a REAL bargain.
I paid 5200 for a theft title R 00 model not bad went to a auction to look for a hatch and seen it role threw and no one wanted it. got a deal. fixed it up need block the car was stolen and blown up engine. even had aftermarket parts.

why exactly does a theft salvaged depreciated the car soo much?
if it wasn't damaged, and nothing is missing (which in most cases something is, but lets just pretend), the car is in the same state as it was previously. Theoretically, it would be no differnt than lending my friend the car for 2 weeks, and getting it back...
i would buy one, as long it was in good condition

salvaged is the key word here.. as in the insurance company totalled it at some point or something along those lines.. for instance, should my R come back to me in complete, or mostly complete, condition - the title will remain as it had before.. Carfax may not even ever pick up that it was stolen..
as far as i know, that's how it works..
