rear disk swap......is it worth the hastle of installing MC/prop/booster?
like the topic says....everything would be out of a 90-93 integra. my engine is out now so theres not a better time to do it. i am running short on time and money but if the difference is huge i would rather do it....the onlything i really don't want to do is the brake booster because of the obvous pain in the ***. thanks guys
The biggest pain in the *** with the booster is getting it inside the car. My issue was it was hitting the Intake Manifold cuz the Integra one is big as ****. However with ur engine out it would be easy as hell.
i have been reading your problems.......errr. try replacing stock parts one by one and see if that helps.....ie old prop valve, MC. if things work then you found your problem. i know this isn't as easy as it sounds b/c you would have to bleed each time.
Every part of my brakes is new except for the lines. And the hardlines are hard as **** to replace cuz there is no room.
from experience......its easy to install. where you go crazy is trying to get things tuned/running right. I always install my crap and then take it to someone to fine tune...its saves lots of headaches and money.
bump for morning crew, i still haven't gotten an answer. i just want to hear about some sucessful swaps. thanks
ok, so maybe if i don't have the money for new or remanufactured MC and brake booster i shouldn't install junk yard parts. what about the proportioning valve? that will work with my stock si booster and mc right? i think i'll just do that if i get some feed back about compatibility

You only need the Integra Prop Valve if you put on Integra Rear Discs. But yes the prop will screw right in.

thanks......hopefully my install will go a bit smoother than yours.......good luck fourth gen
I am in the process of doing my rear disk swap, I have already done the MC and brake booster and it feels hell of a lot better. I'd say it's worth it. Basically I am doing the rear disk swap because I am tired of the damn squeaks on the rear drum brakes and the hassle it is to change them.
if you change the master cylinder you must also change the booster. the Integra MC and Civic MC both bolt up differently. i just got done putting the rear brakes on my car. i just took the booster off but its a pain to get it out with the motor in the car so i'm gonna rip my motor out to do it (i'm getting a swap soon anyway and its not my daily driver). if you go with the 1" MC then you need to add some line. i have both of them and i just said screw the 1" and i'm gonna use my 15/16". i didnt make it to the prop valve yet but it looks to just bolt up and everyone else says it does. if you need a prop valve and MC i have some extras. but you'll need the Teg booster
Just pull the intake manifold to get at the booster and MC. It's easy that way.
I can get mine off in less than an hour, and that's a tight fitting *** B series manifold.

ok, so whats the deal.......if i get the 90-93 integra booster and MC will the hard brake lines screw right in? what size is that teg MC? thanks for the help

Yes they fit right in. Its the later like 94+ Integra that has different sized couplers for the lines.

If you wanna keep your current booster you can. If you wanna upgrad teh MC then get an 89 Accord LXi 15/16th's MC. Or check into one for a 91 Honda Civic Sedan EX. if they ask what kind of accord say fuel injected. and on the civic, 1.6l.
Edit": all the above listed are 15/16th master cylinders that bolt onto your stock brake booster which works fine unless its trashed.

That's the debate, some people say you don't need to change the booster, but a good friend of mine that happens to be a mechanic says it is better to change it.
i'm telling you right now that the Teg MC will not bolt up to the Civic booster. i just tried it last night. they attach at different angles. so if you put the Teg MC on the Civic booster then the MC will sit sideways. and good luck keeping brake fluid in it that way. the 94+ booster will not fit either. its too big to fit in the area. trust me. i tried that last night also. i have a 1" MC and 94+ booster and they arent direct bolt up. the 15/16" MC will bolt right up and you need the 90-93 Teg booster also. if you really want i'll take pics tonight and prove it to you. you can use the 90-93 Teg booster and 90+ MC. but if you use the 1" MC then you need to bend lines and get new fittings since the 94+ has bigger fittings
