Yeah, that'd be the best thing to do right now.

Glad you're back safe

Welcome back.

It could be corrosion on the battery terminals has migrated to the battery cables (if there was a big buildup of gunk on the terminals).

Sounds like a bad battery and not a bad alternator... he said it's fine as long as it's running, but it won't hold a charge... which means dead battery.

did anyone who recommended a new battery actually read the entire first post? he has already tried 2 other batteries and gotten the same result.

Anyways I also say that it sounds like your alternator is the problem

Whoops my bad, just skimmed his post, yeah if you've tried two batteries, then definately check the alternator.

Welcome Home
Check the battery voltage while the car is running - most likely the alternator isn't charging... You'd be suprised how long a car can run w/ a dead alternator and a jump start

I had the same problem after the winter, what I did might be stupid but it works...I just keep on driving my car after a jump-start, it took me about 3 nights for doing that(1-2hrs everynight) and everything back to normal after that.
I know it is kind of stupid but it still fun to drive around with my R. ( but make sure don't turn off your car when you stop for a coffee or something else.)
