Default Just a few interesting things I found reading the Car&Driver review

I think we've all seen the better 0-60 and 1/4 mile times but here's a few items I haven't seen mentioned before.

In comparing the '02 RSX numbers to '97 ITR numbers
- braking distance 70-0mph 24 feet longer
- brake fade rated "light" compared to "none" for the ITR
- noise levels are about 1/2 as loud(not performance related but I just thought I'd mention it)
- skidpad .02g lower
- turning circle 3 feet larger
- Street start 5-60mph only .1 seconds faster
- drag limited top speed 10mph lower

From this it's pretty clear to me the TypeS is a big step down performance wise despite it's slightly better acceleration times*. But we all knew that already right?

*I know some people contest this but I just use C&D times for examples

Do you really think it's a BIG step down? How about just a step down...defensive Type-r owners

uhhh...it's supposed to be the equivalent to the GSR isn't it?

There is an RSX Type R except it resides in Japan under the alias of a 2002 Integra Type R. 217 bhp, 11.5:1 compression, chromoly flywheel, duct cooled Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, 6 speed...I'd say that's the fairer comparison and why I will patiently await it's arrival (whether it shows up or not).

I've been thinking...the K-series will be the new hot motor in a few years. So people will be stealing RSX-S and RSX-Rs more than G3 Integras. So maybe I should just keep my G3 and make it a K20 killer? In 3 years no one will want my old B18 anyway.

This will put a lot of people in their place who claim the type S is better than the R. I mean more horsepower and more torque don't mean a thing if the car weighs more. Long live the INTEGRA.

Has anybody else noticed, but there isn't a lot of activity on the RSX board.

I just wanted to put a new perspective on the review. Also next time anyone is at an Acura dealership and a salesman tries to tell you how the RSX will blow your ITR out of the water by quoting C&D ask why it takes an extra 24' to stop.

I actually think the RSX is a good car and would consider one if something happened to my ITR. Brakes are a weakness for sure though and the JDM TypeR version addresses that.

I test drove the itr right before I test drove the RSX Type S. NO COMPARISON in terms of handling. Hands down, the itr won in that category.

The RSX felt loose and very soft. I ended up getting the itr, although it was more expensive, with less options.....
