i just painted these rims..they were ugly chromes..and i didnt know what kind they were..when i bought my car it came with it..so i just painted the middle with gunmetal and left the lip chrome.. heres the pix.

and heres my wrinkle paint valve cover. that is a d16y8. dont mind the battery tie..i didnt do it..the previous owner did..and i didnt bother to change it..its pretty stiff so its alll good!

Did you just paint straight over the chrome?? Methinks that isn't going to last very long before it starts flaking off.

 

no i didnt..i mask off the lip, then i sand down the spokes, then paint over it, and clear coat it.
