i hope the local police aren't reading this. they're already using subaru impreza rs ghost cars with great success here. if they upgrade to wrx's i'm taking public transit

as they say... if the police need something this fast in their arsenal... what is everyone else driving?

I don't know about you guys but in Japan it's a trip to see a NSX/Skyline R34/and GTO's (3000gt) with Black and white paint jobs and lights on top ..!! it just blows me away that they use them on Tomei and Wangan..

I forget which state, but one of them (new jersey maybe) just ordered 50 E46 M3s for their police force...

in NC we got Z28's everywhere.. and in cary we got an SI undercover that goes around trying to race people...

 

doubt it; wouldn't make a good police car... wheels too big (picture curb jumping), stick only... I have seen pics of 328i and 528i as police cars over the pond.

 

I know that the mounties in BC use camaro's on the highways.

 

i don't want my tax-payer dollars going towards $55K E46 M3s as cop cars. sorry, but that's a blatant waste of tax-payer's money . . . the frickin' caprice classics are fine.

 

New York has Camaro Z28 SS for highway pursuits. I saw one of those thing accelerate after a Civic-ku. Scary monster.

 

I say we put them all in Ford Festivas or Toyota Echos. That way they wont feel so high and mighty when writing you up...if they can catch you.

 

im not sure if this is true but i heard about a cop that drives a hooked up prelude, its grey and has rims, kit.. everything.. i heard that he races people and pulls em over.. i think they said it was around NJ..

Massachusetts has a supercharged 99 si patrol car. It's on the mass pike.

 

Those NY state cruisers have somehting liek 750HP so they book ***!!! I got to drive one since my buddie's uncle is a cop. he let me drive it. SICK!!! Its still a Camaro though. But sick it was.

One of the local csi kids almost got into it with him but then a turbo eclipse was reving on a older rx7 ahead of him so he was watchin them, they took off and so did the si that was reving on him, about 4 miles down the turbo eclipse had the rx7 pulled over and had the guy out of the car. The csi kid ended pulling up to the cop in the toll area and was talking to him, he told him he was going to pull him over if he had hit it and that he was lucky. The kid said the cop was real cool and was telling all about the car, but still a turbo and a si for cop cars. That is scary!!!

 

Are you nuts? I'd move over there and become a cop!

 

Same here in Portugal, our police uses Subarus Imprezas, BMWs 330d a 944 Turbo and a 16v CRX (!!) lol most of their use is to chase street racers......

 

The main reasons why US doesn't use these vehicles is because of cost reasons. If they provide one vehicle for an officer, the next in line must also get one....otherwise the "my lawyer will talk to your lawyer" crap of deal will emerge.

 

here on the LI there are a couple of FI civic si's. Mostly blue but i've seen some red. They are pretty insanely fast.
