Default New brake pads needed

Just wore out my EBC green pads. Any suggestions on pads? Need for both track and street.

I just bought the Porterfields R4S. I love the pads. I babied them for a week to break them in. I used them hard for the first time last Saturday at an autocross. The initial bite of the pads are great. Modulation is great. I hear hawk pads have an "on-off" feeling and are hard to modulate. The Porterfields are nice. Also, it feels safer on the street. I did notice some discoloration on one rotor. I will monitor this situation.

I was using my HAWK HP+ pads at Shannonville on Monday (2nd track day with them) and had absolutely no problems with them.

On the street they do tend to make some noise if that is a problem for you but they do work very well day to day. I haven't tried them in the winter so I don't know how they work near or below freezing.

Regards,

Are the Endless pads a street/light track pad? Cost? Where to get them?

Endless has a variety of compounds for street and track use. Take a look at my website. I tried to explain the different compounds there.

I've heard that Hawk are to strong for stock rotors, is that true? I've also heard that they have a lot of dust and stain rims.

Endless: They are a lot of money.

EBC: I've only heard good things, how were the greens?

$350 CDN for a set (2) Endless CC-X pads

Owner said, most people flip out because it's $175 per pad. Oh well you get what you pay for usually, these pad should be good for awhile. Temp rating is 100 - 800

Greens lasted 9km and 12 track days. Brakes never seemed to fade. Lots of dust but washable. Rotor friendly.

Godfrey! I haven't seen that guy in AGES... We used to do a lot of autocross and Solo I and lapping when I first got my ITR and he had his VR6 Golf and 944 Turbo. Ahhh, those were the days. If you see him tell him George says hi! Cool...

Edwin, you know that the HP+ pads are ~$150 CND! I hope the Endless pads are worth the difference. except for the noise I have had nothing to complain about with the Hawks.
