calipers upgrade
ok...i have a 1990-91 DX hatch. it has integra knuckle assemble already for the fronts...bigger than stock but i wanna upgrade to a 2 piston caliper setup. any suggestions on what to upgrade to? i will be using 15" x 6.5" rims if there are any questions about clearance issues. chassis will be used for road racing in button willow....TIA.
ok...19 views...no advice yet. how about if i ask what size rotors will fit fine under 14" rims? i'm thinking of just keeping my stockers with upgraded rotors and pads. will these work on buttonwillow's racing environment? i'm gonna keep my stock calipers...they are integra ones in the front...i'm gonna need to upgrade my rear drums to disk soon though...
I'm replying if for not other reason then to have someone with more knowledge respond.
For track days I use my stock calipers, w/Porterfield R4-S Pads and at the moment NAPA DOT 4 fluid... not real happy with the fluid though. I've used Motul and it seems to endure more heat.
I'm not familiar with Buttonwillow, so I can't comment directly about how that track will tax your brakes.
As far as your rear drum brakes, I've heard that it doesn't really matter 'bout those, since you're going to do most of your braking with the fronts.
Good luck!

sweet man...thanks for your input! that's what i was thinking too. i'm probably just gonna upgrade to bigger rotors (brembo blanks) and use road race brake pads.
