Default Sway Bar Question

I have a 93 Civic DX, so it has LCA's with no mounting holes. I have a Apex-I WS cat Back...and i want to put a Rear Sway bar...i would like to have a ITR size bar.

I would like to know who else has this exaust and which LCA did they put and which sway bar fit without problems....does the ITR LCA's move the track out? ( i thought it was wider track)

Can i use any 04-01 TEG LCA with A ITR bar?

use 94+ gsr rlca's. it shouldn't affect the "track."

Use any 94-01 Integra LCA's they have the mounting holes.

You can also use the ITR LCA's as well, but you will have to use an ITR rear shock assembly in conjunction w/ them.

so if the car doesn't have a rear sway bar, the 94-01 'Teg LCA's are the way to go?

I've got to find out if the 95 Sedans had a rear sway bar..it's an LX..

and what about the use of a lower tie bar? I saw that Beaks has a kit that they sell that will enable you to continue to use one..

Lower Arm bars are overrated. The difference is transparent. get a bigger sway bar, and you will never notice a difference with or without the lower tie.

So a 22mm or 24 mm bar would be more than enough to make up the the lack of a tie bar i assume?

Also, anyone know if a 95 Civic LX (sedan) came with a rear sway bar?

Just get the LCA's off a teg or civic that came with a rear swaybar. Then add the parts from the dealer and a BSQ kit. Works for me.

you can also just get a progess 22mm bar which has brackets that come off the shocks, works excellent, no need for different lcas's. I love mine.

no I don't have a pic, but I think I have seen one on this board somewhere. It's an L-shaped bracket that attaches to the front side of the lower shock bolt. Here's a link to some other threads about it. Has pics too.

Just one more question...progress makes a 22mm bar..and the OEM ITR bar is 22mm..why not just get an ITR bar..it's cheaper that the progress..?

dont forget u need reinforcement for those sway bars or you might get subframe tearout.....beaks has a kit for that task

yeah L brackets off the strut bolt is what the progress uses.....sorry I have no close up pics....

The JDM ITR bar is 23mm and Beaks sells a kit, 185-195 shipped for the ITR/Beaks kit for the rear for any EG....the progress bar is also around that price range and is 22mm, however attaches to stock LCA bolt holes, and "expands" further out to the strut....maybe more stability but I have no proof of that it just makes more sense....

Yeah any Sway bar that attaches like an oem bar you'd need reinforcement on the subframe to avoid rippage!!

Nope. The ITR bar is the only one that needs reinforcement. Don't be wasting
your money for a beaks kit on your gsr bar.

Because you need to get integra lca's for the itr bar to bolt up to. With the progress you get brackets that can be used without getting new lca's.

For the progress bar, all I did was put the biggest washer I could on the backside of the subframe, never had any problems.

Ok..but on the Beak's site the say that their kit (using the OEM 22mm sway bar)
has the following applications
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
All rear anti-sway bar equipped models of the following:
'92-'95 Honda Civic EX sedan
'94-'97 Honda Civic del Sol VTEC
‘94-’01 Acura Integra RS, LS, GS, and GS-R

The "Quick-Swap" kit comes with all components necessary for installation on Integras or Civics that are equipped with a factory rear anti-sway bar. </TD></TR></TABLE>
So..in this case I'm assuming I can take the LCA's from a Civic Sedan and hook up the ITR rear sway bar.

Sorry ..but I'm trying to:
a) understand and make sure I do it right
b) get the proper parts..

Use a reinforcement kit made by Beaks or BSQ. Mounting it the way they did in that Hybrid article has resulted in subframe tearout for a lot of people.

And you've probably found out by now but to answer your older question, no, to my knowledge, the LX sedan did not come with a rear swaybar. The EX did though. Hope this helps.
