Default Boredom = Night Shoot. (56k might bog)

Hey all.. i'm back at it, armed with my camera and some blingin garage light.

I'd like any suggestions on my lighting/exposure, etc. from the pro's.. that'd be great!

I know its a stock prelude but i'm just so proud of it and at the same time i'm trying to build some photography skills... Any/all comments or suggestions are welcome!

Wish i could get those lights to look a bit more crisp.

for the (actual) high-res ones.. you'll need to add .orig.jpg on the end of the url..
then tell me if i still need a better one. i think the image quality on this digi cam is great for a 4mp.

i'm using a nikon coolpix 4300.

also.. how can i host the full size high res pics off image station without that ghey image resizing jpg. feature?

are you using a tripod for the night pics? If not, get one! Pics look good, I think they should be a little more clear if its a 4mp camera and you were using a tripod.....If you have adjustable shutter settings, try around 3-4 seconds for your night pics and mess around with the exposure levels....Practice makes perfect!! Every lighting condition is different, so its really trial and error till you get it just right....Good luck

My buddy Mike uses the Nikon 4300 too and knows it inside and out, his name on here is EKcoupe99....PM him for more info!!

As far as imagestation goes, you can't really host the full size unless you add the .orig.jpg .....try wtdr instead if you want to host full size photos, there is no limit on what size you can use........thats what I do and it works out great........however I do resize mine down to 800x600 all the time for posting on HT

i appreciate it.. yeah i'm using a tripod and it seems to hold up quite well. i am not sure why they arent as clear as they shoudl be. The one of the side view mirror looks really clear to me (did you check the hi-res ones?)
thanks for the support.. ill wait til tomorrow night and try it again

with night time shots you just have to play with your white balance and apature settings to get them where you want them
practice makes perfect.......you should check out the pics that i took of my friends prelude in a parking garage the other night and see what you think of those
i am satisfied with them but it took me a long time to knwo my camera where i know excatly how to set it up for the surrounding i am in

yeah, i'm the type that doesnt mind the trial and error. once i get more accustomed to my camera and all these different white balance settings.. ill hopefully be on my way to better pics.

im not a pro, but one thing I learned is
never use autofocus with low level lighting
always use manual focus
your shots will come out alot cleaner
thats what your problem looks like to me
keep experimenting, youll get it
