I'm doing DIY as well so far on my 90 GS:
$75 for tDO4 14b, $150 for rebuild
$195 Swift performance DP(2.5" w/ e-cutout)
$130 for oil lines from Flamenco T
$40 450cc injectors, $44 for cleaning
misc pipes from JCW ~$60
1g DSM SMIC $40
1g DSM BOV $30

still have to have Swift probably make my mani and I still gotta pick up some other **** here and there, but I don't expect to go over $1.5-2k depending on how I go as fars as engine management...IMO DIY is cool as long as you don't cheap out and go once over on everything, plus as opposed to a kit, you don't have throw down $2-3gs at once!! just my $.02

I'm just about done with my DIY..crossing my fingers to finish before school starts. I have a crappy job, so I had kept the budget for my setup down low, way lower than some of these other guys... but, it's not quite done, and I'm not sure how well it'll work, but... my $.02.

IHI RHB5 turbo, used - $120
DSM 450cc injectors, used - $80
DSM BOV, used - $20
DSM injector clips - $15
Injector seals - $20
Custom built manifold + downpipe by tinker219 - $350
Gasket set for turbo - $45
Uberchip - $100
PR4 socketed ECU for the Uberchip - $100
Battery relocation (wires, case, hassle..) - $40
Misc. nuts and bolts - $15
GE Oil feed setup - $90
Brake line from Napa for oil feed - $10
Vacuum lines + splitters - $20
Intercooler off Saab 9000 - $50

Ok, I need one small welding job, I need charge piping (PVC pipe to start), and I need a smaller intercooler... but after that, it'll be going hopefully. I've done the bare minimum, practically... You're still gonna need a boost gauge, and probably your oil pressure and EGT gauges, but those come later for me. The total here is $1075... adds up quick! It can be done a LOT cheaper though, don't get me wrong. In fact, one of the import mags or turbo mags I saw the other day was detailing a ~$400 SOHC turbo setup for one of their Civics. Not bad either.
