Default jdm b18c-r, hondata s200/p28, no vtec, settings???

i have a 97 jdm itr motor running off a hondata s200 chipped p28(obd1). vtec is not engaging, after burning a new program into the chip we hooked the ecu to my friends gsr and everything was working properly, smooth idle, vtec engaging at 5400.

however when i hooked it up to my car the idle is high and vtec is not crossing over. the vtec pressure switch is disabled on the hondata chip, is this correct? what are the proper settings for the s200/p28 with a jdm engine? thank you

JDM ITR motors dont come with a vtec pressure switch.. but the p28 looks for it.

i never knew/heard of the hondata disabling vtec PS.

so then it is correct to disable the switch with the p28. hondata does give you that option.

any other ideas about what could be wrong?

Try cutting j1 on the ecu and see if vtec will engage wih the ecu in stock form.
