aftermarket head gasket?
has anyone here used any aftermarket headgaskets (mugen, spoon, etc.) to raise compression? is there any problems with them or pretty reliable. i want to get jdm type r pistons with a mugen headgasket on my gsr motor, do you think it would be a good idea??
bump for a good question looking for an answer to similar type of question

i was just searching inlinefour.com, and i all i could find was spoon, mugen, and toda...is there any other reliable brands out there. i would think with jdm itr pistons, it would put my car at around 11.5:1 cr...and thats pretty much where i want to be, but i havent ever heard any feedback from somebody using this setup...theres gotta be someone out there.

I believe if your head isn't warped and the block is pretty even/smooth you wont have a problem with it.
There have been cases of failure of those headgaskets and it will seriously **** up the head and/or block.
Here's a pic of 1layer head gasket failure

not pretty

12.042422511586593 with CTR's.
11.362493622638828 with JDM ITR's.
Both are with OEM head gasket. If you want to calculate your compression here's a link. http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...c.php
