Another teg with a brake problem...
Alright, so here's the deal...back in the winter, i noticed my brake light remaining on for about ten minutes or so after i started driving the car (yes, the e-brake was down and there was plenty of fluid). This usually happened on really cold days (i go to school in upstate ny, not texas)...however, it quit happening after a while, so i assumed everything was alright.
Jump ahead about four or five months to this summer...i again noticed the brake light remaining on after driving the car with the e-brake down, obviously. This happened two times in a row and then didn't happen again for a month. I noticed my brakes were squeaking more than before, so i had a few people take a look at my brake pads. The brake pads are fine and the fluid is full.
Currently...the light is remaining on for about ten minutes after i start driving everytime i go somewhere. I know my brake pads are fine, my e-brake is down, and my fluid is good...what could be the problem and how urgent is this? I have not noticed any difference in stopping either. I'm debating whether or not i should just take the car in to have someone with more experience look at it. Any ideas before i have to spend money on yet another annoying problem instead of performance parts??

No, not the brake pads...they have been examined by a number of people and seem to be fine.
NONVTECNAINTEGRA, is this a major problem? Should it be fixed??? Why does the light stay on for about ten minutes?
Any other ideas? Thanks...

So hm, nobody knows...
I was driving the teg today and the light actually turned off and on several times over a period of 20 minutes...decided to turn on a few times when i was speeding up. I don't get it...making me mad though.
Anyone???

I don't think it's stuck calipers, because the idiot light has no way of knowing whether they're stuck. Same story with worn pads.
Stuck handbrake switch? Not the lever itself, but the little switch that closes the circuit when the handbrake is set. It might be broke, or maybe it's bracket is bent.
Unplug the wires coming from the brake fluid reservoir. If that solves the problem, then you've got a bad float switch in the reservoir cap. Unless of course, the fluid is actually low...

If your caliper had seized, you would have noticed it by now. you would have noticed it when you checked the pads. the intermittent nature of the problem makes me think it's an issue with the e-brake sensor. disconnect it and see what happens.
good luck

The fluid is not low.
Thanks for the help...i started to think it might be a sensor because the brake light goes on and off a few times, in a random manner. I would expect it to just stay on if there was a major problem...not turn on and off several times over 20 minutes.
